I am writing to obtain information about the number of your employees who received remuneration of more than £100,000 in 2013-14.

Remuneration includes, but is not limited to: salary, fees, allowances, bonuses, benefits in kind, compensation for loss of office and employers’ pension contributions.

Three employees received remuneration in excess of £100,000 in 2013/14, the details of which can be found in the Draft Statement of Accounts 2013/14 (and the approved Statement of Accounts that will be published on 30th September 2014) in disclosure note 24 which are held on the internet.

We can confirm we hold the information you have requested however we are unable to disclose the details of the individuals under Freedom Of Information. 

The information regarding remuneration packages has been produced in public papers for the Service to be accountable for the expenditure.  However, to disclose the names of the individuals concerned would be a breach of Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act. Disclosure would breach Principle 1 of the Data Protection Act 1998 which states that “personal data should not be used in any way that could have unjustified adverse effects on the individuals concerned”
