Road traffic collision in Codsall

Firefighters from Staffordshire and Shropshire have dealt with a road traffic collision on Boscobel Road, Codsall.

"On arrival at the incident firefighters and paramedics were faced with a number of walking wounded and so the priority was to identify which casualties required hospital treatment and which could be treated at the scene. Firefighters worked quickly to cut free the driver of the car who was trapped by the vehicle."

The emergency call was received at 8.40am and the incident was attended by crews from Tweedale, Telford Central, Wellington and Brewood.

The incident involved a collision between a car and a minibus. Firefighters were required to cut free one male casualty from the car, who was taken to New Cross Hospital.

The driver of the minibus and three child passengers were also taken to New Cross Hospital.

Firefighters assisted paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service to provide first aid to the other passengers from the minibus at the scene.

The final crews left the incident at 10.05am.
