Overtime Payments During Strike

Reference No: 104/2014
Request Date: 18/11/2014

Request

The total cost of overtime payments (total pay claims) when members of the Fire Brigades Union went on strike, going from August 2013 to the present day.

During that same time period I would also ask for the number of staff who claimed overtime payment total pay claims).

During that same time period I would also ask for the total deductions from employees’ pay as a result of the industrial action.

Response

The total cost of overtime payments = £182,223 + Employer Costs = £204,690
(This may be slightly overstated as we may have coded some payments to the same place for people attending the flooding incidents across the Country in Dec 13 & Jan 14)

The total number of different Staff who claimed overtime during the periods of industrial action from August 13 to November 14 was 184
