Stafford firefighters wash up for charity

22/09/2015

Firefighters from Stafford will be holding a charity car wash on Saturday September 26. The event will take place from 10am until 2.30pm at Stafford Fire Station.

“Motorists can get their cars cleaned, support the Fire Fighters Charity and, importantly, sign up for a free Home Fire Risk Check at the same time. The risk check will make sure that their home is as safe from fire as possible.”

Station Manager Phil Smith

Motorists are invited to take their car along and have it washed in return for a donation to The Fire Fighters Charity, which supports serving and retired fire service personnel and their families.

Station Manager Phil Smith said: “Motorists can get their cars cleaned, support the Fire Fighters Charity and, importantly, sign up for a free Home Fire Risk Check at the same time. The risk check will make sure that their home is as safe from fire as possible.”

Notes to editor - The Fire Fighters Charity is the UK’s leading provider of services that enhance the quality of life for serving and retired firefighters, fire personnel and their families. It costs £9 million a year to keep the charity running and with no government funding they are completely reliant on the generosity and support from the public.
