Hanley firefighters make a splash for charity

29/09/2015

Firefighters from Hanley will be holding a charity car wash event on Friday, October 9. The event will take place from 11am until 2pm at Hanley Community Fire Station.

“Drivers can do their bit for charity and get their car washed at the same time. They can also request a free Home Fire Risk Check which will ensure their homes are as safe from fire as possible.”

Station Manager Pete Jones

Motorists are invited to take their car along and have it washed in return for a donation to The Fire Fighters Charity, which supports serving and retired fire service personnel and their families.

Notes to editor - The Fire Fighters Charity is the UK’s leading provider of services that enhance the quality of life for serving and retired firefighters, fire personnel and their families. It costs £9 million a year to keep the charity running and with no government funding they are completely reliant on the generosity and support from the public.
