Firefighters turn soap stars for charity

Firefighters from Brewood Fire Station will be getting in a lather when they hold a charity car wash on Saturday October 24, 2015 from 10am to 2pm.

“We really appreciate the support we receive for the Fire Fighters charity from motorists in the area. The car wash is also a great way to raise fire safety awareness and highlight our free Home Fire Risk Check. These free checks take a short amount of time to carry out and firefighters will fit smoke alarms if needed."

Station Manager, Neil Pederson

The crew will be rolling up their sleeves and soaping their sponges in aid of the Fire Fighters charity which supports serving and retired fire service personnel and their families.

Motorists can get their car washed and take home some life-saving tips in return for a donation. The crew will not only give your car a shine but give out fire safety advice as they increase awareness of the Service’s Free Home Fire Risk Check.

Station Manager Neil Pedersen said: “We really appreciate the support we receive for the Fire Fighters charity from motorists in the area. The car wash is also a great way to raise fire safety awareness and highlight our free Home Fire Risk Check. These free checks take a short amount of time to carry out and firefighters will fit smoke alarms if needed.

“These life-saving measures will give you the precious extra minutes needed to evacuate your home in the case of a fire. Drivers can also sign up any elderly relatives they feel would benefit from the checks.”
