Fire in Govan Road, Fenton, Stoke on Trent

Firefighters attended an incident at ABC Transport on Govan Road, Fenton, Stoke- on-Trent at 11.31pm yesterday evening.

“Up to 40 firefighters worked throughout the night and the following morning to bring the fire under control. Two pumps and the aerial ladder from Burton remain in attendance this morning and a fire investigation has begun”.

More than a dozen appliances attended the incident including crews from Burslem, Longton, Hanley, Sandyford, Ipstones and Kidsgrove. Specialist vehicles in attendance included the water carrier from Cheadle, the welfare vehicle from Newcastle and the Command vehicle from Stone.

The single storey industrial unit was well alight and crews used three main jets, an unmanned jet, the aerial ladder platform from Burton and a compressed air foam system jet to bring the blaze under control.
