Hanley Community Fire Station will be throwing open its doors to local residents from November 11 and inviting people to come in for a chat and a cuppa.

The drop-in sessions will run from the Lower Bethesda Street facility every Wednesday from 10am-4pm.

The Coffee Station will be run by volunteers from the Service and the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Safer Communities CIC.

As a special offer, visitors can receive their first cup of coffee for free. Simply print off the coupon from the following site: http://www.safercommunitiescic.org.uk/blog/blog/coffee-station-to-be-launched-at-hanley-community-fire-station

Project Lead Harry Cameron said: "This is an excellent opportunity, particularly for older people, to meet up in a warm, safe and friendly environment to have a chat to each other, to our firefighters and community safety officers.

"It’s also a great way to learn more about fire safety in the home and on the roads to ensure that you, your family and friends stay safe now that the winter weather has arrived."
