20/7/2017

A fire investigation into the incident at The Avenue, Blythe Bridge, has concluded the fire was started deliberately.

“It is concerning that this fire was started deliberately and we will continue to work closely with Staffordshire Police to investigate this incident.”

Fire Investigation Officer Simon Craythorn

Two crews from Longton attended the fire on the ground floor of the semi detached property at 4.02am on July 20. They used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to put out the fire.

Fire Investigation Officer Simon Craythorn said: “It would appear the fire started at the front door of the property. The six occupiers were alerted to the fire by the smoke alarms which had recently been fitted in the property. If this had not been the case there could have been tragic results.
