Lichfield Firefighters are supporting national breast cancer awareness month at an event this Friday.
Firefighters will be going to The Cute Little Beauty Salon in Tudor Row, Lichfield City Centre where they will be assisting staff to raise money for the charity. They will also take the opportunity to offer fire safety advice to customers and generate referrals for people requiring a free home fire risk check.
Lichfield Assistant Area Commander, Dermot Hogan commented: "Here at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service we are very keen to get involved with both local and national fundraising activities and throughout the year we raise money for various charities. This 'Wear it Pink' day is being supported by our firefighters in Lichfield and in several stations across the county. Our support staff at HQ will also be getting involved by donning their pink t shirts!"
All of the money raised goes towards vital research into beating breast cancer.
