Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service - Preventing, Protecting, Responding

Lantern Parade in Lichfield

Firefighters from Lichfield will be taking part in a Lantern Parade around North Lichfield on 30th October.

Members of the public will walk the streets of Lichfield displaying the Lanterns that they have made prior to the event at Curborough Community Centre in Lichfield. Adults and youngsters have attended four to five workshops over the past few weeks where the lanterns have been made.

Firefighters will be present on COFFS (Community Outreach Firefighter Scheme) bikes as marshals and to support the community partners.

The event is organised by various partners such as, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Staffordshire Police, North Lichfield and Community Learning Partnership, Lichfield District Council, Homezone and the Adult and Community Learning Partnership.

Watch Manager Steve Whitehouse said: "Last year proved to be a great success and a fantastic opportunity for the community to work together and encourage youngsters to engage in a positive activity at Halloween."
