"I would like to thank the local community who attended the day and helped us to raise this fantastic sum of money for our two chosen charities."
Newcastle Area Commander, Rebecca Bryant
Local partners will meet next Friday at Newcastle Fire Station where they will hand over a cheque of £750 to the Deputy Headteacher Stuart Allman. The money was raised at this years 'Midsummer Mayhem' event at Lyme Valley Recreation Park in Newcastle. The day was a huge success raising over £1,500 in total for The Fire Fighters Charity and Merryfields Special School. A sum of money has also been put aside which will go towards organising next years event.
Newcastle Area Commander, Rebecca Bryant commented: "On behalf of all the local partners who joined together to organise this fantastic event, I would like to thank the local community who attended the day and helped us to raise this fantastic sum of money for our two chosen charities."
"It was a great day out for all the family and the weather was certainly on our side! Importantly for us, we also managed to generate over 150 home fire risk check referrals meaning even more people in the County will be safer from fire."
