Fire at Disused Pub In Longton

Firefighters attended a fire at a disused pub on Lightwood Road in Longton yesterday evening. The emergency call was received at 6.30pm.

"The building was formally used as the Dunrobin Public House.  The building was smoke logged on the ground and first floor but no structural damage was caused as a result of the fire."

Fire and rescue crews from Longton attended the incident which involved two separate fires on the ground floor of a three storey building.  Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fires.

Station Manager, Simon Craythorn said: "The building was formally used as the Dunrobin Public House.  The building was smoke logged on the ground and first floor but no structural damage was caused as a result of the fire."

Firefighters left the incident at around 8.30pm.  The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.
