A recruitment day at Brewood station will give people the chance to explore career opportunities within the fire service.
People attending the event on Wednesday, December 9th, can enjoy a tour of the facility and chat to both male and female firefighters about life working for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
"For women, as well as men, a career with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service can be very stimulating."
Paul Danby, Watch Manager
A talk by leading fire officers will be followed by a special DVD presentation, a question and answer session with refreshments and the chance to get up-close to an appliance.
Watch Manager at Brewood station, Paul Danby, said: "Working for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service in a community like Brewood is a very rewarding and thoroughly enjoyable vocation.
"The common perception of firefighters is that they simply tackle fire but we do much more than that.
"I am very proud of the relationship we have established with community groups, schools and businesses in Brewood. We all work together to make our village a safe and happy place for everyone."
The recruitment day will be split into two sessions, 10am to 12 noon and 7pm to 9pm, and Paul is keen to see women who are interested in a job or career with the Fire Service to come through the door.
"We have a number of female firefighters who will be on hand during this event to speak about their role within the fire service," he said.
"For women, as well as men, a career with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service can be very stimulating, helping your own community and making a difference to people’s lives provides a sense of great satisfaction and achievement."
