Driving Home Road Safety

Firefighters will use a high-impact presentation to raise awareness of road safety as part of the annual Operation Safer Streets campaign.

On Friday, December 11th, crews will assemble in Lichfield’s Market Square to demonstrate a road traffic extrication.

The Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service event will be split into two sessions. The first takes place from 2pm to 4pm and will see firefighters engaging the public, offering advice on road safety and distributing key information.

The second session, from 7pm to 10pm, includes the graphic demonstration of an RTC using a crash car.

Operation Safer Streets is a joint-initiative with Staffordshire Police. The campaign aims to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.
