Catering staff at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service have been recognised for their excellent standards of service.
Following a January inspection of the facility, ordered under The Food Hygiene Regulations 2006, the team has been awarded 5 Stars, the highest accolade attainable under the Rate My Place initiative.
"It is also a tribute to the support we get from the management at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service who provide us with the facilities and equipment needed to achieve this sort of recognition."
Stephen Leadbeater, Catering Manager
Rate My Place is co-ordinated by Staffordshire County Council, in accordance with directives laid down by the European Parliament in Brussels, to ensure public sector organisations maintain the highest possible standards of food hygiene and quality service.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service's catering unit first received the 5 Star standard in 2008 when the Local Authority launched Rate My Place.
Catering Manager, Stephen Leadbeater, said: "It's a great tribute to everyone in the team here that we have maintained such high standards of service and delivery and that those standards have once again been recognised.
"It is also a tribute to the support we get from the management at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service who provide us with the facilities and equipment needed to achieve this sort of recognition.
"Apart from providing a daily canteen service to staff here we also cater for external organisations who regularly use our conference facilities for events.
"The feedback we get is always very positive, from the quality of food we provide to customer service."
