A man has been cut free from his vehicle following a car crash outside the Greenman Inn, Bottomhouse, in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
The emergency call was received at 7.15am this morning and firefighters from Ipstones and Leek attended the incident.
Group Manager, Wayne Bowcock said: "Firefighters cut away the door of the car, before assisting paramedics in removing the driver from the vehicle.
"With the temperatures dropping again we’d urge drivers to take extra care, particularly on untreated roads - ice isn’t always visible to the naked eye."
The casualty was transported to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. Crews left the incident at 8.10am.
