Firefighters have this morning been tackling a fire in an outbuilding in Weston upon Trent. They were called to the incident at 6.20am.
Two crews from Stafford and one from Stone attended the incident which involved a farm house outbuilding, approximately 10 metres by 20 metres, which was well alight.
"Firefighters managed to confine the fire to the one building and stopped it from spreading to other buildings in the nearby vicinity."
Group Manager, Mark Williams
Mark continued: "This incident is believed to have been caused accidentally due to flying particles from a bonfire the night before. We would urge people that carry out controlled burning to they ensure that the bonfires are well away from buildings and most importantly to make sure that the fires are extinguished properly."
Firefighters used a light volume pump to extract water from a nearby canal which was then used to help extinguish the fire. Hose reel jets were also used to tackle the fire. The incident closed at 8.20am.
