Two car crashes yesterday required firefighters to release trapped casualties from their vehicles.
The first incident, at approximately 5pm, was on the A38 southbound between Claymills and Branston in Burton on Trent. Crews from Burton and Tutbury attended the incident which involved a hatchback car that had left the carriageway. Firefighters released one female casualty who was trapped in the vehicle; she was then transported to the Queens Hospital in Burton.
The second incident was on Bull Lane, Brindley Ford, Stoke-on-Trent at approximately 8.15pm. Crews from Kidsgrove, Burslem and Longton attended the incident which involved two cars. One male was trapped and firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to free him from the vehicle. Crews were at the incident for approximately one hour and the casualty was transported to hospital by land ambulance.
