Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service - Preventing, Protecting, Responding

Fire Show is Hot Stuff

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Arson Task Force have teamed up with the Stopwatch Theatre Company in an attempt to educate children about the dangers of deliberate fire setting.

A group of young actors, from the theatre group, will be visiting year eight pupils at schools around the County in the coming week where they will be staging their production of 'Arson About.'

Risk Reduction Manager, Simon Craythorn commented: "This is a 75 minute production and interactive workshop which has been designed to demonstrate and discuss with young people how setting fires can easily escalate into tragedy. We have run the programme previously and to date 7000 children have seen the production in the last two years.

"This is a great way to get across some hard hitting messages about arson and fire safety in a fun yet hard hitting way."
