Pets Rescued in Cannock House Fire

Firefighters rescued three dogs and a parrot from a house fire on Cedar Hill Drive, Cannock in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Three crews from Firefighters from Cannock and Penkridge were sent to the incident which involved a car fire that had then spread to the house it was parked next to. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus forced entry into the property to search for any potential occupiers. No people were found, however crews rescued three Staffordshire bull terriers and an African parrot. Due to no owners being at the property the pets were taken in by the RSPCA to be cared for.

Firefighters tackled the fire using two hose reel jets and the final crews left the incident at 4.15am. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
