This successful Programme is now in its 13th year and will commence in February 2020.

More details about the Programme and how to apply can be found on or the NFCC website. A total of 12 places are available for ELP 2020.

The Programme is open to both Operational and Professional Fire Service staff who already hold a strategic leadership position or are likely to in the near future.

The Programme

The Programme consists of five modules, each of three or four day’s duration and is delivered by our academic partner – Warwick Business School.

Candidates MUST be available to attend all five modules the dates for which are:-

  • Induction: 2nd February 2020
  • Module 1: 3rd – 6th February 2020
  • Module 2: 16th – 18th March 2020
  • Module 3: 18th – 21st May 2020
  • Module 4: 6th – 9th July 2020
  • Module 5: 5th – 8th October 2020

On completion of the Programme and the associated academic assignments successful candidates will be awarded a Post Graduate Certificate in Strategic Leadership.

The closing date for receipt of all Applications is – midnight 18th August 2019.

All Applications must be supported by your Chief Fire Officer by the 16th September 2019. We will facilitate this process, however please ensure you arrange to discuss your application with your Chief prior to the above date.

Gateway Process

You will be required to participate in the Gateway Process which will take place on 19th, 20th and 21st November 2019. Full and further details will be provided nearer the time.
