Christmas message from Chief Fire Officer Becci Bryant
This has been an extraordinary year and has placed huge demands on our communities across Staffordshire.
I’m proud that Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has played its part and worked with you as we’ve come to terms with a difficult 2020.
Who would’ve thought this time last year that we’d be challenged by a lockdown, have to wear face masks, work from home, and not be able to visit friends and family?
Our firefighters and staff have certainly been kept busy, but not in the ways we might’ve expected.
They’ve delivered food parcels and around one million items of personal protective equipment. They’ve helped to install and prepare temporary buildings and completed many safe and well checks.
It’s been a pleasure to work for you and with you and, although it’s been such a demanding year, I truly believe it has demonstrated the best of us.
I wish you a very happy Christmas and hope that you stay safe and well and here’s to a better 2021.
