Crews at scene of fire at shop

Multiple crews are currently dealing with a fire at a shop in Stoke-on-Trent.

We got a call shortly after 1.45pm this afternoon (Thursday 23 May) after smoke and flames were seen coming from Farmfoods on Moorland Road, Burslem.

Local crews are there alongside colleagues from Staffordshire Police working to bring the incident to a safe and swift conclusion.

We’re advising people in the area to keep their windows and doors closed as a precaution whilst we continue to deal with the fire.

Both of the neighbouring buildings have been evacuated.

We’re using hose reel jets, breathing apparatus and ventilation equipment to contain the blaze and stop it from spreading.

An investigation into the cause will take place once it’s safe to do so.
