Crews tackle house fire

A number of crews have extinguished a fire in a house in Stoke-on-Trent.

Just after 3pm on Monday (2 September), we were called to Harpfield Road in Trent Vale after smoke and flames were seen coming from the building.

A number of crews and the aerial ladder platform (ALP) went to the scene alongside colleagues from Staffordshire Police.

No-one was inside at the time. Neighbouring properties were evacuated as a precaution whilst the fire was contained using hose reel jets and breathing equipment.

Electrical engineers were also called to the scene and deemed the electrical supply safe before leaving.

Following an investigation into the cause, it was determined that the fire was started accidentally.
