Crews tackle waste fire

Crews have extinguished a waste fire on open land in Norton Canes today (Wednesday 19 February).

We received a call just before 10am and went to the scene, off Hednesford Road, where we found two separate piles of rubbish and tyres well alight.

Two appliances and our water carrier were used to safely put out the fires.

We are now advising that nearby residents can open their doors and windows.
