Deliberate fire inside derelict building extinguished

Firefighters have extinguished a deliberate fire inside a derelict building in Stafford.

We were called at 4.20pm on Tuesday (15 April) to Greyfriars Place following reports of smoke coming from a building.

Three fire engines attended the scene and used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

Nobody was reported injured.

The fire was later deemed to be deliberate and the incident was left with Staffordshire Police.
