Fire crews extinguish van on fire

Firefighters have extinguished a van on fire in Burton-on-Trent.

A crew from Burton and our colleagues from Staffordshire Police were called to Paget Street, Burton-on-Trent, just after 7.40pm on Sunday (13 August).

On arrival, we found a van well-alight and extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet and breathing apparatus.

Shortly after, a man’s body was found in the van.

A joint investigation is taking place to establish the cause of the fire.
