Fire crews help to rescue sheep trapped in flood water

We have helped rescue sheep who were stuck in flood water in Rugeley this morning (6 December).

Crews from Cannock and Tamworth, as well as the specialist Cannock Unimog appliance and water rescue teams, were called to a field off the A51. A drone was also used to help find the stranded sheep.

Firefighters found a number of sheep in a flooded field and in distress.

Working with the land owner, we were able to help move the sheep to a place of safety. None of them were injured.

Crews left the scene just after 11am.
