Firefighters extinguish large house fire

Firefighters have extinguished a large house fire in south Staffordshire.

We were called to a house near St Andrews Drive in Perton, just before 4pm yesterday (Tuesday 15 April) following reports of a fire.

Four fire engines attended the scene and found a fire on the first floor of the property. Hose reel jets and breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire.

A woman has been taken to hospital by colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

An investigation into the cause will take place in due course.
