Firefighters tackled a fire at an abandoned building in Stoke-on-Trent

We were called just before 10am on Wednesday (24 July) to reports of a fire inside a building on Upper Hillchurch Street, Hanley.

We joined our colleagues from Staffordshire Police at the scene.

Crews used hose reel jets and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. Fortunately, no one was inside the building and no one was injured.

It is believed the fire had been caused deliberately and it has been left in the hands of Staffordshire Police.
