A flat fire in Stoke-on-Trent has been deemed deliberate following an investigation.

Shortly before 9.30am yesterday (Tuesday 16 July), we were called to Wood Street in Longton after the fire was spotted.

Four crews were sent to the scene and quickly began work to extinguish the fire and make the area safe.

The electric supply was isolated and all floors were searched, with no-one found inside the building.

Thankfully, no-one was injured.

Following an investigation, the fire was deemed to have started deliberately.

The incident has been left with our colleagues at Staffordshire Police.
