Flat fire extinguished by four crews

We have extinguished a fire that started inside a flat in Stoke-on-Trent.

Shortly before 9.30am this morning (Tuesday 16 July), we were called to Wood Street in Longton after the fire was spotted.

Four crews were sent to the scene and quickly began work to extinguish the fire and make the area safe.

The electric supply was isolated and all floors were searched, with no-one found inside the building.

Main jets, hose reel jets and breathing equipment was used to extinguish the fire.

Thankfully, no-one was injured.

A full investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
