House fire that spread to neighbouring property extinguished

A house fire that spread to a neighbouring property near Stone has been extinguished.

At 5.40am yesterday morning (Thursday 15 August), we were called to Cotes Lane, Swynnerton, following reports of smoke and flames coming from the roof of a semi-detached home.

The fire quickly spread to the roof of a neighbouring home. A number of local crews went to the scene, including the aerial ladder platform, to contain the fire and stop it from spreading further.

We used hose reel jets and breathing equipment to extinguish the fire. We also removed debris and stayed to make sure hotspots were fully extinguished.

Thankfully, no-one was injured.

We carried out an investigation into the cause and later determined it was accidental.
