Engaging with our communities
We want to bring people together and build lasting relationships with the communities we serve in Staffordshire.
Our approach to community engagement involves a range of activities that engages with and creates open conversations with our residents. We often organise events and visits for local community groups to give them the opportunity to find out more about the role of the fire service, our equipment and provide information and advice on topics such as fire, water and road safety.
These activities are carried out in a number of ways, including;
- Open days
- Station visits
- Attending community events
- School visits
- Involvement in community initiatives/projects
- Presence at religious or Pride events
- Drop-in events at community centres
- Community lunches
- Car wash events at stations
We value the input of all community members and it’s important we are inclusive in our approach to engaging with and supporting all parts of Staffordshire.
We work hard to ensure that everybody feels welcome. When delivering services, we are committed to making these accessible and inclusive. This might mean understanding the neurodiversity of our services users and how this might affect them during a Safe and Well visit or understanding how someone’s faith can affect how they want to be treated by firefighters in an emergency situation.
